Mod Server for Quake Enhanced

This is a growing collection of singleplayer mods for the official rerelease of Quake also known as Quake Enhanced or KEX Quake. Once you make a small change to your launch configuration of Quake, this collection will appear in the Add-ons menu. We also have a discord server where you can chat about mods and request them here: https://discord.gg/zg2ENYQDty

For Steam, open the library and right-click on Quake to find its properties. Once there, add this parameter to the “Launch Options”:

+ui_addonsBaseURL "https://kexquake.s3.amazonaws.com/"

  • Steam Library Properties
  • Quake Launch Options

For Epic Games and GoG, add the parameter in the location described here: https://www.howtogeek.com/825209/add-command-line-arguments-to-steam-gog-epic-games-store/

That's it! Once you are logged into your Bethesda.net account, the Add-ons menu will show up. To get the official Add-ons again, remove this parameter. To stop the custom Add-ons from showing up, run this batch file (AddonPurge.bat) or delete the “addons.json” from the Quake saved game location often found here:

C:\Users\[User Name]\Saved Games\Nightdive Studios\Quake\addons.json

Do you have too many mods on your add-ons menu and it is hard to select some of them? If you hover your mouse just below the "Download" button it will activate. There is also a patch you can use which fixes the add-on menu. Get it below!

If you want to help test out the latest additions before they get on the main server, we have a testing server too! Just use the parameter below in the launch options instead.

+ui_addonsBaseURL "https://kexquake.s3.amazonaws.com/testing/"

Feel free to send any playtesting results to Immorpher (immorpher@gmail.com), where screen shots are appreciated. We will be happy to take requests for specific map sets too. Also if you are a modder, we will prioritize your map set and help you test it!
